HELP! My Husband Snores SUPER loud! Is there anything, med or a trick that can make him stop snoring?...

...My husband snores so loud I sometimes think he will swallow the drapes! It is super loud and I just can't put up with it anymore because now we have a baby and the baby wakes up with his loud snoring.
Can someone tell me what I can do, a trick or something? Is there a medication?
Those breath right strips don't work! He doesn't like the feeling of it on his face! :(

"There are lots of little things that he could do to prevent your snoring.

Try to develop a regular sleeping pattern

Avoid alcohol and heavy meals before going to sleep

Try sleeping on his side

If he is overweight, losing weight would help

There are numerous surgeries that he could have done, but those are also very pricey. If those minor adjustments don't help, I would suggest maybe trying a snoring product before going with surgery. There are numerous products on the market that offer money back guarantees. My wife use to snore horribly and I bought her the My Snoring Solution jaw support and that worked wonders."

Any idea why a watery substance (mucus or saliva?) might be choking my wife while she is sleeping?...

...My wife snores and additionally wakes up many times with a sort of acid reflux almost vomiting in her mouth, but lately I have noticed something different as well.

While she sleeps I often read so I have to listen to the various sounds she makes. Lately it has gone beyond snoring to a sort of odd gargling or squishing sound, almost like the sound that would be made if you swirled water around in your mouth. It's a bit disturbing tbh.

I thought it might be some sort of post-nasal drip, but i'm not sure.

She sometimes sits up quickly and a saliva or near watery type fluid will drain out. Tonight she blew her nose twice and produced alot of very thin saliva (?) with maybe a slight pink coloration.

She has not smoked in a few years, but I sometimes do around her.

I feel really bad for her, but honestly between her snoring (especially when she is sleeping on her back), the gargling sounds, and her sometimes sitting bolt upright, it has become very annoying and made my slight insomnia even worse.

Any ideas what this could be and how it can be treated?

"This sounds like it could in fact be sleep apnea related snoring. This might explain the gurgling sounds. Try using very firm pillows and more pillows to keep her head elevated at night. There are also exercises she can do to help to tone the inner mouth. One of the reasons people snore is that the soft palate of the mouth becomes too floppy at night or the tongue loses muscle tone and lolls back against the windpipes. Whatever you do to help her stop snoring, it's worth. Snoring has been linked to a 67% increased risk of stroke."

How to stop snoring that is caused by drinking alcohol?...

...My mom asked me to post this question about my dad. He drinks a few beers at about 4 or 5 o'clock, eats dinner, then goes to bed because he has to wake up early in the morning for work. My mom gets barely any sleep because of his snoring. By the sounds of things, the doctor said its his drinking. Is there some kind of trick or homemade way to stop this? Please help, my mom gets no sleep and pretty soon she's going to have to move to the couch!!

How do I stop snoring?...

...Does anyone know how I can stop snoring? I’m a younger single guy and I would really like to stop snoring! I’ve been snoring for years now and it gets in the way of my personal life… I get embarrassed to have women sleep over because I’m afraid the snoring will keep them up all night. I try to sleep on my side but it doesn't seem to help, I just can’t seem to stop snoring. It’s also very loud and I’ve been told I stop breathing sometimes. In college I even had to have a single dorm room because no roommate would put up with my loud snoring...

Can anybody help me stop snoring?

"You might want to check the problem with the ENT doctor. Every single person is quite unique physiologically and therefore it might be a bit hard to answer that question until you know for sure what might be the cause. Usually, snoring occurs when the little part called uvula is vibrating due to decrease in the area of the tracheal path. The uvula can also contribute to snoring or heavy breathing during sleep; having an elongated uvula can cause vibrations which lead to snoring. Pretty much snoring on its own sounds like there is some blockage of the tracheal path when you are breathing. For right now you could try some nasal strips, which could ease your condition. The ENT doctor should be able to examine your physiology of your throat. Also, you might want to ask your doctor for a sleep study, which will give answers as to why you might be snoring so loud. If you have anxiety to sleeping in foreign places such as a sleep clinic, I know of a company called Central Sleep Diagnostics, where they come out to your home and you get to sleep in the comfort of your own bed."

What could cause this sleep issue and how can we resolve it?...

...My husband has an extremely difficult time falling asleep, and is nearly impossible to wake up in the morning. He is always tired and grumpy because when he does sleep he says he doesn't wake up rested. He does snore, but not ridiculously. He is often late for work because of his inability to get up in the morning. It takes him literally two hours just to get out of bed. He isn't lazy though, he works 5 days a week, 8-10 hours a day. Its very hard work, he should be tired by the end of the day but he just sits up or lays in bed awake.
We tried sleeping pills, they didn't help.
What could cause this problem and how can we resolve it?
A note- shortly before he started having real issues, (he always had some insomnia) he was in an accident and received a horrible blow to the head. Could that actually cause sleep disturbance? It happened about a year and half ago, and it is just getting worse and worse....

"wow ok well has he stayed up like really late multiple times before?
because if he has then me and him have the same problems because its probly energy that he lost during staying awake and it all adds up so maybe he might need to like take a big rest like only get up when hes ready it works and as soon but strickly as soon as he feels like knocking out he should either go to bed or try to and if it doesnt work the 1st time then he should rest when he cant bare but he shouldnt challenge his sleepyness.there is also a pill that makes u sleep for 16 hours straight i dont know the name but i know that if u do use it for the 16 hours its kinda used like you would take 2 pills instead of 1"

How can I stop snoring?? ASAP?...

...I need to know how i can prevent myself from snoring...
Its important that I find out A.S.A.P.
Please help me

"Hiya, I suffered from sleep apnea and heavy snoring - my partner couldn´t sleep and often woke me up violently as I appeared to have stopped breathing. I got so fed up I decided to take some action - I first purchased a sleep pillow - which although one of the best pillows I´ve ever bought, it didn´t always stop me from snoring ( I still use it today lol) and I tried a few medications but I don´t like taking tablets particularly. I then found a chin strap jaw supporter at http://stopsnore.info. I bought one and I´ve never looked back - you look a bit daft wearing it and it takes a couple of nights to get it fitting right and used to wearing it but it is a complete solution - I never snore when I´m wearing it and I no longer dribble from my mouth either - it´s been a godsend. I wasted weeks of time and quite a lot of money before I found this solution. It has a cast iron 90 day Money Back Guarantee too - so you´ve nothing to lose - Try it - you´ll be surprised!!. You can find more information about your problem at http://stopsnore.info/nosnore"

"Try the tennis ball trick. Many people who snore do so while sleeping on their backs. Put a tennis ball in a sock and pin it to the back of the shirt you sleep in. The, if you roll over during the night, the ball will nudge you back on to your side. Also, there are exercises for the throat and soft palate which help you. The reason many of us snore is that we lose muscle tone, and the inner mouth flutters when we breath. Exercising your throat and mouth can firm up these muscles and reduce snoring. Whatever you do to stop snoring, it's worth it. Snoring has been linked to a 67% increased risk of stroke."

"There are products you can use to immediately relieve your snoring.
Nasal strip, mouth guards, or even snoring pillow might help.
But what you really need is a positive lifestyle change, quit smoking, drinking and sleeping on your side will all help you stop snoring.
Pick up stop snoring exercises techniques! These methods used by singers will actually open up your breathing pathway and continue to do so even when you sleep, and thus effectively eliminate your snoring in the long run."
